24-year-old comedian Brian Marshall – a popular club and cabaret entertainer throughout the North who appeared as Bunny (one of Diana Dors’ wayward sons) in Queenie’s Castle (1970 -1972) – was given a series of his own by Yorkshire Television in May and June 1973.
Appearing with the Stockport-born comedian in the six-part series was his real-life fiancée Gemma Craven and future Crackerjack star Stu Francis.
Guests included Labi Siffre, Hurricane Smith, Jimmy Helms, Neil Sedaka, The Settlers and Lynsey de Paul.
The jokes were dire (“Der Fledermaus? I once crossed a flea with a mouse. My cat’s itching to get at it!”)
