10 x 30 minute episodes
This 30-minute Sunday afternoon production from London Weekend Television aired between July and September 1970 and starred crazed DJ Kenny Everett (born Maurice James Cole) in a mildly outrageous, highly confused but eminently stimulating look at the current pop scene.
The use of a split-screen, stop-frame animation, Chroma-key and other special effect devices was imaginative and effective.
Kenny played the best and worst discs interspersed with short sketches featuring his own brand of lunacy which saw him become a television comedy superstar in the late 70s and 1980s until his untimely and premature death, aged 50, from an AIDS-related illness on 4 April 1995.
