Alan Alda (best known as Hawkeye Pierce from M*A*S*H) created this short-lived CBS sitcom about a normal middle-class family in a modest middle-class suburban home in New Jersey.
Lawyer George Platt (Goodfellas supremo Paul Sorvino) and his loving wife Liz (Mitzi Hoag) had three teenage children: curly-haired Michael, known as “Muff” (Jerry Houser), Andrea (Devon Scott) and Kenny (Willie Aames).
Henry Jones made an occasional appearance as Liz’s father.
Episodes dealt with the generation gap, teenage angst, school, dating and the usual family issues.
The series – videotaped before a live studio audience – aired on Friday nights at 8:30 pm but only ran from 14 March to 30 May in 1975.
