Presented by Chloe Ashcroft, Don Spencer (the Aussie chap who had a 1963 chart hit with the song Fireball – the closing theme tune from Fireball XL5) and Carol Chell, this kids TV show aired in the See-Saw slot on BBC1, providing 26 lunchtime episodes in 1983 and 1985.

The presenters sang songs and regaled the kids with stories about ‘Meg and Mog’, ‘Clarence the Clockwork Clown’ and ‘Victoria Kangaroo’ in between spinning around like a top, jumping up and down or discovering which objects sink and which ones float.

Stock library footage was also used to show kangaroos sweeping across the Australian desert or just groups of children losing their minds over a giant inflatable.

There were also two clown glove puppets named Hokey and Cokey who joined in with the singing and games. They had even stronger Australian accents than Don Spencer (who had his hand up their bums).

The three presenters had all served stints on Play School, which is also where producer Christine Hewitt and executive producer Cynthia Felgate hailed from. The similarities were obvious.
