This animated ABC series featured pint-sized magical monsters Winkle, Gump and Boo, who assisted young Prince Dexter, a human boy, in his quest to regain his kingdom, which had been usurped by the evil sorcerer Renwick after the death of the prince’s father.
Winkle was a cheerful, childlike pink monster who could fly after taking a deep breath. Gump was a grumpy orange monster who could shapeshift into other objects. Boo was a timid, cowardly blue monster who could become invisible (except for his eyes).
Other regular characters included kindly wizard Phineas – who trained Dexter as an apprentice wizard and had a dragon called Lulu – and a young servant girl named Clovie, who had a pet sparrow named William.
