Starman (Robert Hays) is a cute hominoid from outer space who, for reasons that elude us, comes to our planet. He impregnates an earth woman and then goes away.
He returns after 14 years and discovers that he now has a teenage son, Scott (Christopher Daniel Barnes), who is half-alien, half-human.
Starman takes on a new name – Paul Forrester – and a career as a photojournalist.
Hounded by relentless government official George Fox (Michael Cavanaugh) he travels around the US having adventures and trying to trace Scott’s mother, Jenny Hayden (Erin Gray).
