This short-lived CBS sitcom starred George Segal as Andy Kooper, a recently divorced man who landed a job as operations manager at a San Francisco public relations agency called Davis & Son.
His boss was Kevin Davis (Todd Field), and his main rival at the firm was Laraine McDermott (Melanie Chartoff). Eugene Roche appeared as Kevin’s retired father, Max Davis.
In his spare time, Kooper played banjo in a Dixieland band called the Lenny Goodman Quartet. Other members of the band were Lenny himself (Jim Haynie) on clarinet; Al (Derek McGrath) on piano, and Kooper’s best pal Monty (Bruce Jarchow) on drums.
Severn Darden appeared as Kooper’s shrink, Dr Noah Wolf.
Take Five was dropped after only two of the six recorded episodes had aired.
