This animated series is set in the 22nd century. Mars and Venus have been colonised, and a new race called “Neo Sapiens” has been created to work as slave labourers.

The Neo Sapiens attempt to revolt against the Earth to win rights equal to their human counterparts. To battle the Neo Sapiens, a weapon called the exo-frame is created, where a human controls an eight-foot-tall fighting machine that is also capable of independent thought.

The revolt is put down, but there is also a threat of pirates (descendants of Earth criminals who serve time by working the mines on the moons of distant planets). The pirates are kept in line – and hunted down if they escape – by the Exo-Fleet of Earth.

The “Neos” – led by Governor-General Phaeton (voiced by Richard Newman) – still want equal rights. The pirates want revenge. Over time – and after countless battles – the pirates and the Neo Sapiens join forces to exact their revenge on the Earth.

Battling them is Lieutenant JT Marsh (voiced by Robby Benson), the head of the Able Squad Unit of exo-frames.
