The Deering Tornados boys high school basketball team in the small town of Dover, Indiana, was infused with new life when female transfer Julie Connor (Daniella Deutscher) joined the team along with brash freshman Michael Maxwell (Christian Benz Belnavis).
The other team members included team captain Chris (David Hanson), who romanced head cheerleader Mary-Beth (Megan Parlen), farm boy Earl (Robert Michael Ryan), jokester Danny (Chad Gabriel), and team manager Samantha Morgan (Hillary Tuck).
Guiding them through their occasional disagreements and difficulties was Coach Fuller, played by Reggie Theus, who was a former NBA All-Star before going into acting.
