30 x 15 minute episodes
Frankie (Isobel Middleton), Mummy (Toby Sedgwick) and Igor (David Shimwell) run the Monster Café, a gruesome eatery watched over by the villainous Baroness, owner of the castle that houses the café and the creator of Frankie.
Female robot Frankie is the manageress and the smartest of the trio. Mummy is a 6,000-year-old Egyptian mummy who sleeps in a coffin and works as the caretaker. He is very dim-witted and pronounces his Ms as Rs (So he calls himself “Rummy”).
Igor is an old Transylvanian man with very poor hygiene and a short temper who works as the cook. He has a pet dustbin called Vinny who will eat anything.
A talking skull (called “Skull”) also lives in the Monster Café and tells incredibly bad jokes.
Monster Café’s best and favourite customer, Chas (Richard Ashton), loves eating slugs and talks with a very strong Brummie accent.
The series aired on Monday afternoons at 3.45 pm in the ‘Children’s BBC’ timeslot.
