This short-lived Nickelodeon show was about summer camp. Everyone loves summer camp.
This slapstick comedy was set at Camp Annawanna where seven lively teens enjoyed schemes and pratfalls at the expense of their extraordinarily dopey counsellor, “Ug” (Kirk Baily).
Long-haired Bobby (Danny Cooksey) was the number-one schemer, abetted by athletic Michael (Erik MacArthur), chubby “Donkey Lips” (Michael Bower) and brainy little kid Sponge (Trevor Eyster).
Counterplotting were the girls – sensible Telly (Venus De Milo), Dina the princess (Heidi Lucas) and Z.Z. (Megan Berwick) the dreamer.
Dr Kahn, the owner of the camp, was never actually seen. His voice – heard only over the PA system – was provided by Steve Slavkin, the show’s creator. The character was invented just to fill time on the show.
The series was filmed primarily at Griffith Park Boys Camp, near the Los Angeles Zoo.
