Jimmy Hughes, Rookie Cop

Returning home to New York City from service in Korea and learning that his policeman father has been killed in the line of duty, Jimmy Hughes (Billy Redfield) joins the NYPD in an attempt to apprehend the slayers.

Learning to serve for reasons other than revenge and finding that teamwork and concern for others are more important than individual action or motivation, he is presented with his father’s badge.

Stories concern the life and problems faced by Jimmy as a rookie cop.

The series ran from 8 May 1953 to 3 July 1953.
