This thirty-minute cartoon series (originally released in Japan as Wandâ surî) was set in the 21st Century (the future) and featured three aliens – Patrol A3 – who are sent to Earth by the Galactic Federation to assess if the planet should be destroyed to protect universal peace from mankind’s warlike ways.
The aliens arrive on Earth and assume disguises as a rabbit (Captain Bonnie – “Bokko” in the original Japanese version), a horse (Corporal Ronnie – originally “Nokko”) and a duck (Lieutenant Zero – aka “Pukko” in the Japanese original) and befriend a young boy named Kenny Carter (“Shinichi Hoshi” in the original).
Together they become involved with Kenny’s older brother Randy (or “Hoshi Kōichi” in the Japanese series) – aka Agent P-77 – a secret agent fighting crime for the Phoenix Agency for Peace Enforcement. The group travels around in a tyre-shaped vehicle called “The Big Wheel”.
The black and white cartoon series was created by Osamu Tezuka and dubbed into English for release outside Japan.
