50 x 60 minute episodes
The Outlaws (from NBC) was a Western with a difference in that it presented stories through the eyes of the outlaws themselves, along with the views of the US Marshal’s that pursued them.
The first season featured Marshal Frank Caine (Barton MacLane) and his two deputies, Will Foreman (Don Collier) and Heck Martin (Jock Gaynor) and the setting was the Oklahoma Territory in the 1880s.
When the series returned in 1961 both Caine and Martin had departed, and Foreman had received a promotion. The action also switched to the small town of Stillwater.
New regulars were Deputy Chalk Beeson (Bruce Yarnell), a handyman drifter named Slim (veteran Western actor Slim Pickens), and restaurant proprietress Connie Masters (Judy Lewis – previously seen in 77 Sunset Strip).
