This short-lived summer tryout comedy from NBC featured two old-timers – Hank Knight (Jack Warden) and Everett Daye (Mason Adams) had been a successful radio comedy team in the late 1940s but fell out when Hank made a play for Everett’s girlfriend at the time, Gloria (Hope Lange).
Everett had subsequently married Gloria and the two men never spoke or saw each other again.
Now, after forty years, the two squabbling broadcasters had reluctantly agreed to co-host a new talk show on low-rating KLOP radio in San Diego.
Janet (Julia Campbell) was the worried station manager, Ellie (Lela Ivey) was Everett’s daughter, Cito (Joe Lala), his son-in-law.
Quips and put-downs flew, and Hank and Everett’s bickering on the air proved to be a ratings bonanza.
In real life, however, despite the top-drawer talent involved, this series lasted less than a month.
