Presented by Carole Ann Rice (who devised the show) and Stu Francis and produced by Border Television, Krazy Kitchen premiered on 13 November 1985 and featured an unusual mix of cookery, pop music and fun and games.
Carole Ann created quick and easy recipes while Francis fannied about and talked with celebrity guests – including Fine Young Cannibals, Basil Brush, Bronski Beat, Boy George, Modern Romance, Gian Sammarco (Adrian Mole) and The Grumbleweeds – about their favourite foods.
The series returned on 30 November 1986 (now on Sunday mornings and reduced to 15 minutes) with circus clown Charlie Cairoli added to the regular lineup as Stu’s next-door neighbour.
The pop music and guests were gone and the show was split between cooking with Carole Ann and Crackerjack-style slapstick hijinx with Stu and Charlie.
