One of the more unusual British children’s TV series starred the title character – a melancholic (often depressed) blue-grey onion-shaped head with arms and legs – who lived in a crack in a damp and squalid cupboard under a kitchen sink in a terraced house.
Murun had an unrequited love for the pallid blonde girl next door, but she had a flashy boyfriend called “Nigel Clarke with an E” who drove a convertible sports car driving git, and who Murun resented with a vengeance.
Murun also had a self-absorbed cousin called Rossiter (pictured) who would visit occasionally.
The series was produced by Bevanfield Films for Channel 4.
