“Make a wish before you sleep, and maybe you’ll visit the Sylvanian Forest”.

This animated series was based on the range of toys of the same name by the Japanese company Epoch.

The stories centred on unhappy children who were transported to the Sylvanian world by the Woodkeeper to fix their problems.

The different animal families who lived in the Sylvanian world – such as the Wildwoods (rabbits), Evergreens (bears) and Thistlethorns (mice) – then worked together with the children.

The children who visited the Sylvanian Forest included Donny, Joey, Grace, Maria, Charlie, Penny, Jack, Jonathan, Katie, Bridget, Jessica, Lisa, Chrissie, Robby, Sara, Sid, Jamie, Tracy, Diane (Di), Jerry, Susan, Mikey, Lori, Andy, Debra, Evan, and Amelia.

The Slydales were a family of wily and tricky foxes – the closest things to bad guys in the Sylvanian Families universe. But the real “villains” were Packbat and his minion, Gatorpossum.
