This three-part miniseries from STV starred EastEnders “Dirty Den” Leslie Grantham as ruthless cockney boxing promoter Eddie Burt.
Eddie travels from London to Glasgow to follow a tip-off about a promising young Scottish boxer named Alec Kerr (played by real Scottish boxer Steve Williams).
But he faces stiff competition from ambitious Glasgow businessman Scott Innes, played by Malcolm Jamieson, best known for his role as French playboy Claude in Howard’s Way.
Both men also become bitter rivals for the affections of glamorous businesswoman Jo Graham (Denise Stephenson).
Scots actors Jimmy Logan and Alexander Morton appeared as a pair of shady characters with a strong financial interest in the young fighter’s future.
The episodes aired from Monday 6 March 1989.
