This updated take on Charlie’s Angels had Zack Hamilton, Kim Taylor, Victoria Carrera, and Eva Kiroff as operatives for DREAM (Dangerous Reconnaissance Emergency Action Missions), a secret organisation that conducts covert assignments from the basement of its HQ, a mansion in Puerto Rico.
Their cover was that of the Dream Team, a company providing gorgeous models for photographic shoots, fashion layouts, commercials, and music videos.
The team was run by Sir Desmond Heath (Roger Moore), a distinguished Englishman who contacted them via closed-circuit television to assign their missions. He was usually seen sipping tea or brandy in the company of a beautiful girl.
Roger Moore agreed to do the series on the proviso that he wouldn’t have to leave his home in Monaco. He filmed his contributions in a TV studio in Monaco using blue-screen chroma key technology.
Zack (Jeff Kaake) considered himself “the new sheriff in town” and the girls “my three beautiful deputies.” Born in Oregon but raised in Los Angeles, he had been an LAPD officer and then an FBI agent. He posed as the manager of the three “Dream Team” models.
Kim (one-time supermodel Angie Everhart) was the team’s toughest member. She had dreams of becoming a Navy SEAL, but women were not permitted to join the SEALs at the time, so she set her sights elsewhere and became a member of the FBI Hostage Rescue Team before joining the Dream Team.
Victoria (former Baywatchstar Traci Bingham) was an explosives and weapons expert and could defuse any bomb. She was born in Los Angeles and was a former Freedom Fighter before becoming a fashion photographer. Her stunning looks also brought her money and fame as a high-fashion model.
Polish-born Eva (Eva Halina, a former Miss Poland) was a world-class gymnast who previously worked as a KGB spy. She was recruited by DREAM for her knowledge of foreign operations and her ability to enter places undetected. Her KGB training made her ruthless (and deadly), but she had learned to control that temperament on team assignments.
The Dream Team mansion was located on Lucinda Road in Puerto Rico – a tourist spot that provided the perfect cover. The building was owned by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration), and the mansion appeared normal, even on the inside.
Its secrets were behind the wall to the billiards room: one flight down was the team’s operations centre, filled with computers and monitors.
Their assignments over the short-run series included pursuing an illegal arms shipment to South Africa, recovering 1,115 kilos of pure cocaine from hijackers, protecting a Chinese human rights activist, rescuing a former Navy SEAL from a South American drug kingpin, and stopping a man who had threatened to detonate a nuclear device in the capital of Santa Rita.
