This ABC comedy series featured Ted Hiller and Neil Diller, friends who wrote the TV seriesΒ The Katie Show (they had previously worked together writing a series called Captain Al’s Circus).
Ted (Kevin Nealon) was a normal, sensible, responsible family man who was married to Jeanne (Jordan Baker) and the father of Allison (Jill Bernard), Lizzie (Faryn Einhorn) and Josh (Jonathan Osser). The Hillers lived at 422 West Grove Street, and the kids attended the Meadowland School. Their family dog was called Nathan.
Neil (Richard Lewis) was a slick and sarcastic, irresponsible divorcee (from his second wife Sherry) and the father of two kids from his first marriage; 14-year-old Brooke (Allison Mack) – who had a married boyfriend –Β and Zane (Kyle Sabihy) – who had been thrown out of school.
Stories followed events in their lives as they struggled to cope with life at home and work with their overbearing boss Gordon Schermerhorn (Eugene Levy), the executive producer of The Katie Show.
