This BBC2 comedy sketch series featured British black and Asian performers, including Felix Dexter, Robbie Gee, Leo Chester, Llewella Gideon, Meera Syal, Kulvinder Ghir, Curtis (Walker) and Ishmael (Thomas), Collette Johnson and Perry Benson.
A dance troupe called ‘Danserious’ performed routines throughout the first two series.
The dance sections were replaced with studio performances from musical acts for series three, which – in turn – were replaced by stand-up comedy slots from series four.
The show also included a recurring EastEndersspoof called The Rub-A-Dub.
Guests included Frank Bruno, Lennox Lewis, Mica Paris, Saeed Jaffrey, Andi Peters, Kathy Burke, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Michael Lewis.
The show quickly became a cult hit and reached an audience of around five million viewers.
