    This syndicated drama series was set in Texas during the 1870s and told of the adventures of Colonel Ranald S MacKenzie (Richard Carlson), an undercover agent for the US 4th Cavalry based at Fort Clark near Brackettville in Kinney County, as he attempted to end the reign of terror begun by marauding Mexican renegades.

    MacKenzie received his secret orders from President Ulysses S Grant and Secretary of War William W Belknap.

    Guest stars included Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Jack Elam, Vic Perrin, Len Lesser and Iron Eyes Cody. Art Gilmore narrated.
