This early television adaptation of the stories by Richmal Crompton featured young schoolboy William Brown (Keith Crane) and the Outlaws – his friends Ginger (David Barry), Douglas (Michael Saunders) and Henry (John Symonds) – and their everyday adventures.
At home, William frequently fell foul of his placid mother (Sylvia Marriott), stern father (Frank Sieman), his elder sister, Ethel (Shirley Lawrence) and brother, Robert (Cavan Malone), and a never-ending supply of elderly aunts.
Hubert Lane (Keith Davis) was William’s sworn arch-enemy.
