David Lewis (Joby Baker) and Larry Clarke (Ronnie Schell) were early morning disc jockeys at a small Los Angeles radio station owned by the overbearing Roland B Hutton Jr (Billy De Wolfe).

Hutton had heard Lewis and Clarke on the air with a small Hawaiian radio station while he was on vacation. He offered them two and a half times what they were making to come and work for him in LA.

Dave was happily married to Linda (Julie Parrish) – the Hawaiian radio station’s switchboard operator. Larry, meanwhile, thought of himself as a ladies’ man and “swinger.”

Their adventures both on and off the air were the subjects of stories in this series.

Goldie Hawn – in her pre-Laugh-In days – played the Lewis’s gossiping and dizzy neighbour, Sandy Kramer (who became Larry’s girlfriend).

Billy De Wolfe’s performance as Hutton, the stuffy, humourless station manager, was the best and funniest part of this show.

Debuting on 5 September 1967, the show was plagued with a bad timeslot (it aired against NBC’s Tuesday Night at the Movies), and the series was cancelled after 26 episodes. The final episode aired on 19 March 1968.
