David Lewis (Joby Baker) and Larry Clarke (Ronnie Schell) were early morning disc jockeys at a small Los Angeles radio station owned by the overbearing Roland B Hutton Jr.
Hutton had heard Lewis and Clarke on the air with a small Hawaiian radio station while he was on vacation. He offered them two-and-a-half times what they were making to come and work for him in LA.
Dave was happily married to Linda (Julie Parrish) – the Hawaiian radio station’s switchboard operator. Larry, meanwhile, thought of himself as a ladies’ man and “swinger.”
Their adventures both on and off the air were the subjects of stories in this series.
Goldie Hawn – in her pre-Laugh-In days – played the Lewis’s gossiping and dizzy neighbour, Sandy Kramer.
Billy De Wolfe’s performance as Hutton, the stuffy, humourless station manager, was the best and funniest part of this show.
