David Lewis (Joby Baker) and Larry Clarke (Ronnie Schell) were early morning disc jockeys at a small Los Angeles radio station owned by the overbearing Roland B Hutton Jr.
Hutton had heard Lewis and Clarke on the air with a small Hawaiian radio station while he was on vacation. He offered them two-and-a-half times what they were making to come and work for him in LA.
Dave was happily married to Linda (Julie Parrish) – the Hawaiian radio station’s switchboard operator. Larry, meanwhile, thought of himself as a ladies’ man and “swinger.”
Their adventures both on and off the air were the subjects of stories in this series. Goldie Hawn – in her pre-Laugh-In days – played the Lewis’s gossiping and dizzy neighbour, Sandy Kramer.
Billy De Wolfe’s performance as Hutton, the stuffy, humourless station manager (pictured below right), was the best and funniest part of this show.
