8 x 60 minute episodes
This short-lived series from CBS debuted on 18 September 1978 and was introduced by sportscaster Phyllis George.
The show – a TV version of the popular People magazine – consisted of taped snippets and interviews arranged (unsurprisingly) in a magazine format.
The “people” the show featured were the likes of Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Margaux Hemingway, Truman Capote, Liza Minnelli, Bianca Jagger, Andy Warhol, Margaret Trudeau, Cheryl Tiegs, Liz Taylor, John Travolta, Suzanne Somers and Bette Midler.
There were also segments featuring people who weren’t stars but had done something extraordinary.
Eight episodes were produced but the show was cancelled after the seventh episode. The eighth episode aired only in Canada.
