Sam was a yellow Labrador retriever assigned to the Los Angeles Police Department in this short-lived half-hour CBS crime show from Jack Webb’s Mark VII Ltd.
Mark Harmon was Sam’s human handler and “partner”, Officer Mike Breen. Together, they were designated as patrol unit Two-Henry-Six.
While on patrol, Sam constantly displayed his superior skills of smell, hearing and running, but Captain Clagett (Len Wayland) had doubts about the K9 program.
The pilot for the series aired on 24 May 1977. The series aired in March and April 1978.
Playing the part of Sam was a four-year-old golden Lab named Bart.
