A short-lived vehicle for British funnyman Charlie Drake in which he involved audience members in singalongs and madcap sketches in old music hall style from the “Imperial Vaudeville House”, which was purpose-built in ATV’s Studio B at Elstree studios complete with a stage, orchestra pit and proscenium arch.
Regulars included Henry McGee, Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band, Anna Dawson and six lovely high-kicking ladies.
All scripts and songs were written by Drake. The show was produced by Shaun O’Riordan and directed by John Scholz-Conway.
The episodes aired on ITV on Thursday nights between 4 March and 15 April 1971.
