“Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?”
“The same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world”
Brain is a genetically engineered mouse who sounds like a cross between Orson Welles and Vincent Price and lives in a cage at Acme Labs with his dim-witted cohort, Pinky
Brain concocts endless – seemingly ingenious – plans, and each night, when the lab closes, Pinky and the Brain escape from their cage and attempt to take over the world.
Unfortunately, Pinky usually manages to throw a spanner in the works and foul up Brainβs plan. But “there is always tomorrow night and a new plan to take over the world.β
Pinky and The BrainΒ originated as a series of segments on Animaniacs (1993) before being spun off into its own show.
A 1998 sequel – Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain – aired in 1998 and 1999 and followed the two mice after Acme Labs closes, when they find themselves being adopted by Elmyra Duff (Cree Summer), a little girl who loves animals so much (too much) that they canβt wait to escape from her bedroom and live anywhere else.
Now, living in a cage in Elmyraβs bedroom, the Brain still plots to take over the world, but this time, he must keep the secret from Elmyra, avoid her and Pinkyβs continual antics and deal with Rudy Mookich (Nancy Cartwright), the neighbourhood bully.
