This Saturday afternoon series from London Weekend Television starred Kenny Everett looking at not only the pop music world but at pretty well everything else.
Featured in the debut programme on 31 October 1970 was the first London appearance of the newly reformed Bee Gees, a visit to Kenny’s ancestral home, a medieval joust and a review of new record releases.
Other episodes saw “Ev” visiting the Malden Model Engineering Society and the Skegness Landladies Lark, and hosting guests including Marjorie Proops, Stanley Unwin, Vanity Fare, Pickettywitch, Gilbert O’Sullivan, The Tremeloes, Thunderclap Newman, Dave Edmunds, T.Rex, McGuinness Flint, Barbara Cartland and Fanny and Johnnie Cradock.
As usual, Kenny was supported by his wrinkled retainer Crip, and aided by the advice of Granny. He also doled out the Royal Raspberry and Golden Earhole awards each week.
