21 x 30 minute episodes
Dink (a happy-go-lucky baby Brontosaurus voiced by RJ Williams) was a fearless little tyke who lived in a place called Green Meadow 65 million years ago with his friends Amber (voiced by Anndi McAfee), Flapper (a Pterodactyl voiced by S. Scott Bullock), Shyler (an Edaphosaurus voiced by Ben Ryan Ganger), and Scat (voiced by Frank Welker).
Crusty the turtle (also voiced by Frank Welker) mentored the young dinosaurs and told them stories that often taught them valuable lessons about life.
Their nemesis was Tyrannor (a T Rex), who was feared by all and chased Dink and his friends all over their prehistoric world.
It was cute, safe, harmless fluff for the younger viewer. The second season introduced a weekly segment called “Factasaurus” which taught lessons and fun facts to educate children about different dinosaur species.
The CBS series – created by Karen Willson and Chris Weber – debuted on Saturday, 16 September 1989, the same day as Rude Dog and the Dweebs and The California Raisin Show.
