This black & white action drama series from ITC/ATV starred Craig Stevens as Mike Strait, a trouble-seeking globetrotting freelance photojournalist, assisted by his svelte sidekick Maggie (Tracy Reed).
The free-spirited photographer shoots the world’s most fascinating people and gets caught in a crossfire of extortion, espionage and murder.
Strait is a man of honour with world-acclaimed talents and expensive tastes. His bold demeanour and dashing, good looks make him a magnet for beautiful women. His passion for exotic locales makes him a Man of the World.
While plot locations ranged from Indo-China to Mexico to the Amazon, the series was filmed in the UK but used location footage specially shot in Spain, on the Riviera and other exotic locations.
The episodes ‘Double Exposure’, ‘Dangerous Hideaway’, ‘Love Me, Love Me Not’ and ‘Flashpoint’ were later re-edited into individual telemovies.
The episode ‘The Sentimental Agent’ was spun off into its own show of the same name starring Carlos Thompson as a rather shady import-export agent.
The series was produced by Harry Fine with superb music from the immortal Henry Mancini.
